Hey Banjo... good for you! That's exactly how I felt when I was trekking Kokoda. If I can do this, then I can do anything. While you're at it, you may want to look at this site www.trainforhumanity.com these are 3 bloggers who are also training for marathons and one a triathlon and they are reaching out for sponsorship while they train and the funds raised will go to Darfur. Anyway, thought I would mention it in case you needed any more incentive! I am interested in how your times go :) Cheers

Hi Manzee

Thanks for stopping by - I hope I finish too!!!

Great question - Finding a mentor is vital to achieving anything.

I think there are two main types of mentors that are great to have.

1. Someone who has already achieved the success that you want - and is willing to teach you how they did it.

2. Someone (or preferably a few people) who are in a similar position to you but perhaps just a little bit more advanced.

Once you start learning it is a great idea to try and help other people out by teaching them what you have learnt as well. Teaching others is a great way to really understand the content.

As far as advice on where to find these mentors?

There are plenty of Investment Educators around at the moment. Some of whom are fantastic and plenty of whom are less than that :) Jamie McIntyre is my personal mentor and he has been simply fantastic. The best thing to do would be to order his free dvd at the top of this blog and see what your think. If he is not exactly what you were looking for then there are plenty of other options - just send me an email and i would be more than happy to help you out.

Finding the 2nd type of mentors will generally come from finding your main mentor. If you go to some seminars or look for some investment clubs to join then you are bound to meet some like minded people who are in a similar position to you.

Best of luck with everything

Happy Investing

Cheers
